Opticon Group (Greece) enters the Blu-ray Disc Stamper market with the purchase of an ODC Nimbus BD Mastering Suite.

Opticon Group announced today that it has purchased an ODC Nimbus BD Mastering Suite to be installed at its newly-constructed showpiece facility in Tripolis, Greece.

According to Opticon CEO Vangelis Angelakos, “ODC Nimbus has demonstrated their ability to consistently produce excellent quality Blu-ray masters using their M8100 Mastering System in real production environments. This, along with the lowest cost-per-BD master made the purchase from ODC Nimbus an easy decision for Opticon”.

Angelakos further stated that “with over 25 years of Dye-Polymer and DRAW experience, and a mechanical system easily capable of exceeding BD specifications, we are happy to be the first ones in Europe that will benefit from ODC Nimbus’ technology to master Blu-ray. Starting in August this year, Opticon will provide independent Glass Mastering services exclusively for BD, although equipped to support all formats. Other than proving our commitment to the standard, this option reflects our intention to deliver nothing less than the quality needed to successfully manufacture BD media”.
